Fun with Microsoft

I googled an error coming from SQL Server 2000. It led me to a Microsoft knowledge base article.

The KB article had a link to a hotfix. You request it and they'll email it to you. So I put in my Hotmail (aka Windows Live) address. I don't use it much, mainly for Microsoft stuff, for instance Technet where I have an account.

Microsoft made me type the email address twice, and also enter a six-character captcha phrase to make sure I'm not a robot trying to hack their servers.

Then I went to my Hotmail account and waited.

After a few minutes a still, small voice in my head said, "Check your spam folder."

You know the rest. Microsoft's email service blocks legitimate mail from Microsoft.

Sigh.
