Police Discretion: A Different Perspective

Dear Diary: So much has happened while I wasn't paying attention.

The Henry Louis Gates arrest in Cambridge, MA may turn out to be one of the more productive, in terms of fostering a national understanding of the -- dare I say -- black man's burden.

CompuServe signs off

AOL shutters classic dial-up provider

CompuServe, the first commercially successful online and email provider in America, has been shut down by AOL after 30 years of service.

The original CompuServe — later renamed CompuServe Classic — was laid to rest July 1, 2009.
